Cernunnos Statue

By Maxine Miller

Cernunnos, known as the Horned One, is the antlered God of the Forest. He is represented as the God of abundance and prosperity. In one arm he is depicted carrying an intertwining serpent, in the other hand a torc with wolf heads at each end. Cernunnos is covered head to toe in Celtic tattoos and a winding leafy design. At his feet is a faithful fox companion. Call on him to increase the flow of abundance in your life. Cernunnos the male horned god of the Iron age Celts. He is the Gaulish version of the Pan-Celtic “Horned God. ” In Welsh mythology he is the Consort of the Great Goddess and god of the Underworld, nature, virility, prosperity, fertility, wealth, animals, sex, reincarnation and shamanism.

This God is also known as Herne the Hunter. Modern Druidry, which derives from Celtic culture, honors Cernunnos in his ancient Celto-European form as the guardian of the forests, the defender of the animal tuatha (tribes), the source of the deep forest wisdom, and the masculine half of creative energy. His restorative work in the cycle of the year is particularly celebrated at Beltaine, and is often paired with one or another of the female deities in her maiden aspect. Druids may call upon him in reference to vital, non-violent masculine divinity.

The horned-god concept is featured prominently in pagan religion. Such deities are linked to nature religion themes as well as to Chthonic or Underworld natures. The power of the stag transfers a warrior nature to the stag-horned god, and as such is a powerful primal image to convey with our unique statue. The Horned God is known to many cultures by many names including: Cernunnos, Herne, Pashupati, Pan, Puck, Pachacamac, Lord of the Winter, Hu Gadarn, and Belatucadros and many others.

He stands approximately 9.5inches in height and is overflowing with beautiful imagery and wonderful wood finished look. This Striking statue of Cernunnos depicts the Horned God Holding a Horned Serpent, the Torc of Power and a Fox Animal Companion is by his feet. His animal dynamism swirls around his head, creating a nebula of energy.

I received my order almost a week sooner than I expected it, and I could tell it was packaged with care. A good thing it was too; the outer box had been damaged by the delivery driver!

The statue itself exceeded expectations, though it is not an exact match with what was shown on the site (my order included a fox at the base of the statue). The personal messages of blessing and gratitude on the invoice was indeed a nice touch, too. You don't see that often these days.

The only criticism I would have is that there was a little more hair on the product than what I believe belonged to the statue. This was no real issue for me, but it could pose a problem for customers who have pet allergies.

I am so far impressed and looking forward to future purchases.
